That should be the case for non OBD-II cars (1995 or earlier).

It all depends on where in Texas you move..Any big city, i.e. Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, you'll have emissions testing..Other places like, Waco, where I went to college, do not do the emissions thing.

Bassani O/R X with Mils. As long as I am not throwing a code I pass the scanner. As far as unplugging the battery I have heard guys that try say they cant get inspected because the car hasnt run enough cycles since the reset. I also have the stock H just in case though lol.

Most major cities within Texas has a message board to go with it (austin - austinareastangs.com). Within those boards, there are always a few people who know where to go for friendly inspections. Good luck with the move

That is true, because a tailpipe sniffer has never used on my 2003 when it's been inspected.

You might be right about that, but about 3 years ago I had a 97 Maxima and they
did it. Last year I had my 99 GT inspected but I did'nt watch what they did.

I watch every second they have the car... worried they will bang a door on something or otherwise damage it.

He can make alot more money there. And says I won't have to work. I said I will still want to work even if we don't need it, cause I won't feel like I am contributing, tho...

edit: plus I am from a non-city kind of area, and miss that...

Hawii is expensive, tho he could make alot there. Florida I have heard only requires 1 inspection when you first register, tho I am not sure on that, but otherwise not too much else appeals to me except the heat.

I live in a county outside of Houston (which is Harris County) so my inspection is pretty simple.

They plug into the car and if the check engine light isn't on then I pass tat part of inspection. They then check the gas cap to see if it seals correctly, but then the rest is all visual such as lights/blinkers. I have only had my tint checked once at inspection while the others didn't even do it.

It's kinda strange, having every county different... it's all the same here in NJ - doesn't matter what county, it all sucks. When I lived in Montana (many years ago, haha) it was great, I remember if my parents got pulled over, they could just hand the officer $5 for the ticket and it was done and over with... no inspection... no court... of course, this was a long time ago, but it was very simple...

Well I live on a county which "borders " Harris county so we usually get stuck with many of their things such as when a few years ago Harris County decided that they would change the speed limit to 55mph to reduce pollution. Since my county borders Harris, we also dropped the speed limits down and it was horrible!! I live in more of the "country" and 55 mph is entirely too slow to get to places around here.

Haha, I live in a less "country" area, and 55 is entirely too slow...
