That should be the case for non OBD-II cars (1995 or earlier).I live in Dallas county and they do emmissions testing every time, they stick
the sniffer in the tailpipe and rev the engine to 2500 rpm for a couple of minutes.

That is true, because a tailpipe sniffer has never used on my 2003 when it's been inspected.
You might be right about that, but about 3 years ago I had a 97 Maxima and they
did it. Last year I had my 99 GT inspected but I did'nt watch what they did.

I had to run through the OBDI with tailpipe sniffer test with the 2400 RPM for 90 seconds BS...![]()
