Question for you guys

I think that if you really sit down and figure out all the costs, you won't be saving much by selling the Mustang and buying a Focus. Sure, it'll use less gas. But i bet the insurance won't be much cheaper, if at all (newer car). Also figure in how much you're going to lose on the sale of your car, and how much you're going to pay on the new car after interest, and you're probably getting pretty close in price.

Getting a newer car to save money rarely works, unless you are talking about a huge difference in mileage and a LOT of miles driven.

I'm with cue-ball on that one. :nice: I went to look at trading the Mustang also for a little 04 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive base model single cab, cause I too am buying a house. After looking into it, it was actually cheaper to keep the Mustang...Insurance on the ranger was going to be WAY more. I pay $118 a month on 2 vehicles (Jeep & Mustang).

:D Well I disagree but I am going to find out for sure I am 23 and driving a sports car My car is

A: worth more than a focus
B: Has a bigger engine than a focus

Before my Mustang I had a 99 Eclipse and boy did the price jump by going to a 99 Mustang GT

But maybe your right but as far as gas and comutte I will save and besides this is just temporary till I decide to buy a 05 Mustang

Kevin: you have good insurance I pay more than that just for the stang I did get a nice drop though I was paying 1600 every 6 months and it just recently went down to 1000 every 6 months

yeah... i'm still here. you should talk. you dissappeared there for a while too.

i just haven't had much to talk about. life's just been keeping me busy recently. relationship stuff, spending time working on my house instead of my car, the nice warm weather has also kept me busy doing other things.

missing out on Pony Trails kinda left a bad taste in my mouth too.

so i took some time away. i sympathize with you on wanting to sell the stang and work on more "domestic" things. that's what i'm working on right now. but i'm keeping the car and biking to work to save on gas. woodinville to redmond is just right.

i say keep the stang, just garage it. that is... unless you're still making payments on it. that's what i've done. i still take it out for a drive here and there but mostly stick to driving my truck. you've got a nice car going just sit on it until you feel like diving back in. you can still enjoy an occasional cruise here and there. in the meantime you can still zip around in a little econo-box.

SWITCH TO GEICO!!!

Yeah, I am not sure yet I have some thinking to do thats all.....

I did check on my insurance though and I would save 88 a month just in insurance

I love my car to death but I am young and have time to have another one it would just be nice to have an extra couple hundred a month for the new house.

Also with 59,000 things are going to start going wrong with it soon and it's no longer under warranty.
