question on fuel pressure

mods are in my sig ....my car was running rich @ 38 vac off so i took it down to 36 vac off does this sound ok and the other question is should i keep lowering it till my plugs start to turn whitish the add 1 from there it deff seemed to help the car

why dont you bump it back to 40 and advance your timing or get a msd

Use the SOP meter...

Get one of your buddies to ride along with you. Find a level stretch of road where you can do some testing. Don't choose a speed range that will make you shift gears, the shift quality & speed will affect your results. Use 2nd or 3rd gear and do a run from 2000 RPM to 5800 RPM. Call out the RPM as it increases and have you buddy record it and the elapsed time. If you have one of those cheap digital watches like I do, a stop watch is built in. Start the fuel pressure at 30 PSI, vacuum off and make a run. Turn it up to 31 and make another. Be sure to reconnect the vacuum every time you set the pressure. Keep turning up the pressure and making runs until you notice a drop off in time. If your bud was careful to record the results, you'll have a nice chart to use to find the optimum pressure.

jr that sounds like a good idea i will do that..also my timing is @18-19 it likes it there.....plugs were on the dark brown side so im going to try the sop tune .....i was just really needing to know what is too low is 30 the max you think id want to drop to for safety....

Don't forget that it will only affect fuel delivery at WOT. If you go too low it will affect the injector atomization of fuel, and drivability may suffer. I wonder if your injectors are too large? Just a thought.

well i did what jr suggested and it seems to be about perfect @36 vac off and the plugs are now light brown.....the injectors are actually perfect for my application i wanted some room to grow...with the new block im sure they will be perfect
