is the Air filter that comes with the MAC STRAIGHT SHOT INTAKE SYSTEM a K&N filter? i was told it was by a stangnetter....lol. Cause I am in the process of cleaning it with the K&N filter cleaner and then respray it with K&N oil......

The filter is a red color just like K&N filters so i am guessing K&N makes em....?

thanks fellas.....

Last night i sprayed it with the K&N cleaner..then I let that soak for 10 minutes....then I rinsed the filter with tap water. And I let it dry over night.
Does this filter need to be re-oiled with the K&N oil...? cause the filter is stilll all red in color.....

I had a real K&N filter once before and before I oiled it after cleaning it, it wasnt all red in color and I sprayed it with the oil and it then turned red.
But the MAC filter is still red after me cleaning it and before oiling it....

Should I oil this filter??? or is it fine?

sorry for these dumb questions..lol

Mac makes their own filters identical to K&N, the K&N's have the K&N logo on the front, Mac also makes thier own re-charge kit, but the K&N is the same thing, so there is no problem with using the K&N recharge kit

wow.. i was just wondering about that same thing, i've got the mac straight shot cai on my car and i was wondering if it was a K&N because i know the previous owner had a K&N on it b4 he got rid of it.. thanks for the help you guys :nice:
