well, I blew a headgasket and will be replacing them soon. I dont have money to buy "good" stuff, but since Im pulling the heads off already, I figured why not change them with something a little better than stock.
here is the HCI combo that I was thinking of:
stock block with e-cam, dart windsor Jr. heads, and GT-40 intake:confused:

I chose these heads because I can get them from a friend for $450. Does that sound good, or shoudl i look for something else?

Thanks!

I beleive the windsor Jr came with 1.94's and were designed as a bolt on for the 302. As long they arent modified you should have no problems with them. But of course, you ALWAYS check valve clearance before you start it.

Personally I would use the TFS 1 over the E cam and I would get a different intake. The GT-40 is (IMO) a high dollar turd.

On those heads you could use a cobra, explorer or performer and get equal or better results for less cash.

You can run those heads even if they do have 2.02 valves with an e-303 cam. I don't know why every says you can't. There is enough p/v clearance for an e-cam. Just not much more. I've got a friend who ran a set of canfields of a stock short block with an elgin cam 222@ .050 w/ .510 lift for years.

theres nothing wrong with the gt-40. I have it on my car unported with a supercharger and i threw down 475 at the wheels.

You have it so of course you will like it. Truth is the GT-40 cost 600.00 and is far from being worth it.

Tons of better intakes on the market for less.

Look under the hood of any car at NMRA/FFW and you will not see the GT40.

im not saying theres not better intakes out there im just saying for what hes probally doing it is good enough. Yea sure if i switch to a Holley intake i could gain 15hp but im not going to. The gt-40 intake will flow something like 200cfm which is plenty with what he would be doing. Also if i can throw down 475 with it im sure it is plenty for his combo.
