question reguarding block

I noticed that when i had the heads and intake off of the block that theres a threaded hole behind the intake mating area on the block kinda where the back of the valley is at. It's kinda hard to explain, but there is one there on my car and i cannot figure out what it is for. There is nothing that i removed from this hole so i am really baffled.


Is is just part of the casting or is there something to worry about.
