whats up guys, I am having alot of vibration while driving..steering wheel and all. I jacked up the passenger side of my car and I am able to move the wheel Up and down..just slightly..When I move the wheel UP and DOWN I can see my yellow bilstein shocks also going up and down..is this normal? it is a slight movement but there is movement..If I push it "IN"..there is also movement..maybe 1cm worth of movement..Is this normal or do I need new wheel bearings? there is some gum residue gunk on the side of my car door..is this from the wheel bearing? some1 told me it was, thanks guys!!!

There should be ZERO movement. Are you talking about the front or rear tire? Anyways, it sounds like a wheel bearing to me. If it is a wheel bearing with 1 centimeter of play it is NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

There should be zero movement. When you spin the wheel does it severely grind? At highway speeds does it howl?

I made a thread on hub bearing replacement in 4.6 tech with pics and prices...
