My stock rear-end is making wierd noises and started jerking. The main seals are leaking too. So it's time for a rebuild. I'm guessing the trak-lok has to be rebuilt, the seals have to be replaced (which involves taking out the axles?).
So if I wanted to put in some 31 spline axles, what else would have to be done to the rear end to support that? I'm not sure if it's worth it because I probably won't risk breaking the axles anytime soon.
I won't be doing this work, I'm having someone do it for me, but I want to know what parts to get. Please let me know if I should add anything to this list:
8.8 T-Lock rebuild kit M-4700-B ($50)
V8 8.8 gears Installation kit M-4210-C ($110)
Friction Modifier
Also, gefracing.com has 8.8" Trak-loks for 31 spline axles and it costs $190. Is it (value-wise) better to replace the trak-lok or rebuild it?
