Questions about a classic

I have always been a lover of all 60's mustangs. I currentl own an '87 GT with a 5 spd, but the wife doesn't like it cause it needs too much work. It needs about as much as a rough classic. Which brings me to my question, About how much ,ON AVERAGE, should I be expecting to pay for a decent '69 coupe or convertable? By decent I mean on the coupe like no body damage, engine optional, and rough but complete interior. Convertable.... Good top frame, good floor pans, again engine optional. On both I should say minimal body damage like on replacable parts.

I'm just looking for a rough average. I cant seem to findany of what I am looking for in my area.

It depends on what you are looking to do with the car that will determine what you should buy and spend. If you want to restore the car than maybe a convertible or fastback would be a nice choice. If you want something to race than a coupe would probably be the way to go, the convertible's lack of rollover protection might play a huge factor. As for price, the fastback mach 1 is worth the most (maybe 5-8k for a 351 project without serious rust), the convertible and fastback standards are about 3-4k for the comparable car, and a coupe would be around 1-2k. Of course if the car is a big block, a GT, a 4-speed, or has many options than you should plan on spending more.

69's sem to be the toughest classics to find, especially the 'Verts, and finding the special parts for them is even harder. Ask myself, Pak, and other 69 owners here! Also, they usually seem to have the worst rust issues as well.

You'll have just as much work bringing back a classic as you do currently with your Fox.

How about a new 2005? Warranty!!!
