I'm told that the verts have sub frame connectors from the factory. I have on 04 GT vert and I just bought Maximum Motorsports connectors because whenever I drive over railroads tracks or some bad pieces of road, it feels as is my car is gonna fall apart.

Now before I install the new connectors, do I need to remove the factory ones? If so, are the factory ones welded in or bolted in?? Are they hard to take out? Also, the sub frames I got are bare steel and I know I need to paint them once they're in, so can anyone reccommend a product? Last, are there any tips or tricks someone can offer on how to install these things??

Thanks in advance

Yes, you have to remove the old ones...they were bolted on my '00. I paid $100 to have a speed shop install when they did my gears. Easy decision for me. Sometimes when we try to save money by doing stuff oursleves, we really don't save money at all.

Yes, you will have to remove the factory ones, and your new ones will have to be welded. I believe you should be able to get rust-proof paint and paint them yourself before taking your car to the shop for installation.

Like he said. Even if you bought a model of subframes that can be bolted in, take them to a shop and have them welded. The cars sheet metal is too thin to hold properly with bolts.

I had mine welded in at a performance shop. They checked all the doors to make sure they opened/closed properly after tack welding the SFC in. They should also be installed on a drive on rack. The suspension has to be loaded. They took their time welding one side then switching to the other so as not to overheat the floor board and burn the carpets. SFC are a great mod and I highly recommend them for all Mustangs.
