I am probably going to get a McLeod Clutch installed while my tranny is getting the TSB fix for the 1-2 grind that is going on.

My questions is
1. Are the McCleod Clutches good

2. Is it necessary to get a new fly wheel with a new clutch or can you use the existing one? Or is it necessary to get in re-surfaced.

Thanks,

I like mine - got the 800 series and matching pressure plate. Pedal is a little firmer, drivability is about the same, but it really grabs! Your flywheel would need to be resurfaced. Might as well upgrade the cable & quadrant, and install a firewall adjuster too.

I forgot to mention the car has less that 13K miles. It is a 01 cobra.... does it still need to be resurfaced? Do the dealers do this or where does it go to get resurfaced?

Thanks,

Yes, still needs to be resurfaced. You should be able to get this done at the dealer or a local auto parts store. The shop I buy from has them in stock, you just bring back yours after the install.
