Hey guys! It's been a while since I have posted, but I have a question. LMR is selling the 1986-1993 SLP Loudmouth Catback Exhaust System (part number M31015)
It states that this part is for these specific years. Does anyone know why they don't list it as a part for all foxes?

Is it because EFI started in '86 on the fox? or are there significantly different mounting positions?

Thanks for the help!

Edit: does anyone have a video showing how SLP Loudmouth mufflers sound on their fox?

Probably because your car doesn't have the double hump transmission crossmember. If I remember correctly, the 1979 Mustang came with a single exhaust.

LMR has a video I believe

We have all of the stuff for dual exhaust now. I had a complete brain fart earlier.

I have a video from when I first got my car. They were the first thing I swapped out. Extremely loud. I'll be happy to email you the clip.

did it have any droning, or was it just loud?
The car isn't a daily or anything. I use it to go out for about an hour at a time just for fun.
I'm fine with loud. I just hate an overly droney exhaust

So, no droning? Perfect!
It's a modified fox mustang. In my opinion, it doesn't need to be quiet.

Like I said, it's not a daily, and the loudness doesn't bother me at all.

I had it running open headers for about a week just to piss off my neighbors. It sounded absolutely glorious, but we got some complaints from one particularly rude neighbor. I am still wondering if I should do some kind of cutouts just because I can.

Think about the statement: 'complaints from a particularly rude neighbor '. I'm sure he thinks you are the rude one. Now I get the good sounding exhaust thing and I know it's a matter of tolerance but think about the neighbors that don't complain, we had a guy in our neighborhood that had a loud truck that was not shy about announcing his comings and goings. There is a story about how it was brought to his attention.

I know that in most cases, It is rude. However, this neighbor isn't a nice person. This particular neighbor has been incredibly rude to us for quite a long time. I wouldn't intentionally piss off a nice neighbor.

Had a neighbor like that years ago. Some people are just born to be an @$$4013. But, on the flip side, be mindful of your other neighbors. I'm sure you don't want to become THAT guy in their eyes.

In all cases it is rude. I have a shovel head harley that has drag pipes, was working on it and revved it up a couple times, it was 2:30 in the afternoon. I found out that the neighbor behind me worked nights. He was pretty cool about it though.
i'm sure you will be aware of your surroundings and considerate to your neighbors, nobody wants to be 'that guy'.

I was thinking more along the lines of a car that isn't a daily and is just a fun car to take out when he wants to. I've had loud vehicles from time to time and up until recently I've been in neighborhoods with them. I tried not to crank them up at night or to early in the morning. When I did I would get in and leave as quietly as possible, never just sitting there revving the motor or letting them idle for excessive periods of time.

At the rental I just moved out of there was a guy across the street that had a late model GTO with very loud exhaust and a cam in it. He would crank the damn thing up a 9 in the evening and just let it idle of 45 minutes. I've got a 3 year old that goes to bed at 8. His car would wake him up. I hated that guy.

It's one thing to have a loud vehicle and enjoy it respectably its another thing to go out of your way to be disrespectful. There's a difference in my opinion.

And some neighbors hate everything and are going to be PO at you for something no matter what you do.

I put three chambers as compared to two chambers on my car for this very reason.

Now that all the loud car bashing is out, get a nice full length exhaust that is leak free and makes the sounds you want and if it's a little loud so what, just be respectful and your neighbors will be ok, well, cept that one.
