QUICK HELP very strange oil change problem

So I'm going to change the oil for the first time in this car since I got it. 88 5.0 and i take off the oil cap and unscrew the drain plug and only bout a quart of oil comes out. This is on a flat surface. The dipstick still reads that the oil level is normal. What the hell is the deal? Is there more than 2 oil drain plugs on these cars!?!?

Wow. Is the car jacked up really strange or something? For the bottom plug, I lower the car down flat (to get a little more oil out). If you knock on the sump, does it sound funny (vs kinda hollow or echo-ing)?

Any chance the hole is clogged up with paraffin? The dipstick is not showing oil slung onto the sides of the tube, right?

I found out after a little more searching here that there is in fact 2 oil drain plugs on these cars. My dad had never even heard of a car with 2. All is good though.

You originally asked if there were more than two plugs (we thought you knew, given that statement).

Glad you got it. I'd note that some dipsticks are mismarked too, so check it after filling it up properly.

Ya after I posted we found out about the 2 plugs. I don't have an owner's manual and this is my first 5.0.

I changed the oil on a Crown Vic or a grand marquis and it was the same...2 plugs
