I was just wondering what the hp difference between 2 sets of heads were, since they have slightly different CFM levels.

Head #1 - 235 cfm intake and 195 exhaust @ .500

Head #2 - 227 cfm intake and 192 cfm exhaust @ .500

Anyone know if there would be any real differences in power for an N/A 4.6L 2V? The head that flows slightly less is about $550 less and comes fully assembled along with a set of cams in them.

Sorry man. I don't know enough about headflow. I still have my crappy PI heads. I'm guessing on an N/A car there would not be a lot of difference. If it was blown or turbo'd it could accentuate the flow a lot more.

That's what I was figuring, but I just wasn't sure.. Hopefully one of the "headflow gurus" will chime in

Wish i was a guru .

But I know and almost live by this statement on my cars (cant tell on the GT lol) "the power is in the heads".

Now the difference you will see is probably in the area of 3-5 RWHP.

Basically its not worth it unless your just going all out.

The stock heads flow between 167 and 180 CFM....so going to 227 is a BIG difference.

how much of a gain would a N/A bolt-on GT get with those heads?.. with full bolt-ons and VT Stage II cams.. any rough estimates?

what does the heads that are 550 more come with. are they fully assembled.

remember to budget all the misc. stuff in like gaskets and hardware. also remember the tune.

the head that flows a little let might be a better deal for you.

I think he's comparing MMR stage 2's to MPH stage 2.5's. Of course now the answers may be tainted by the MPH nut-huggers *coughhotmustang331cough*, but nonetheless. ( im just busting his balls, im well aware of MPH's quality)

To my knowledge the MMR's come with stock valves, cams, and retainers. The MPH's I really forget how they come. Either way, Ive seen Tim himself praise MMR (over on MPH forums), and the MMR's will be used with VT stage 2's, staying N/A for my application. So I' think I'll be ordering a set of their heads towards the end of the year.
