quick question about flowmaster tail pipes?

I was looking to buy tail pipes for my 98 gt. When I bought my car someone had some gay Z28 tips on the stock pipes and I cut them off. I dont want tips welded on so I was looking for tail pipes. The flowmaster tail pipes say for 96-97 what is the difference from 98?

Can the 97 hangers be used so I don't have to spend 60 bux more for the 98 tail pipes from flowmaster? 96-97 are $239.00 and 98 are sold each for $153.00
