Hey I pulled off my rotor and distributor cap yesterday when I was going to replace my PIP. I noticed that there was a lot of orange dust inside the distributor, the metal pieces in the distributor cap were black where they made contact with the rotor and the rotor was quite rough and looked to be ground down from hitting the contacts on the distributor cap.
I am wondering if this could be the reason my car was failing, here is a pic or is this just normal?
Also how do I get the gear's off the distributor. I dont have many tools at my appartment so ideas are fine. Do I have to remove the gear and the other piece with the rod in it to get the main long rod out of the distributor to replace the PIP?
Thanks
