Remember that the piston rises to the top of the cylinder twice per cycle. Make sure that you've aligned your TDC mark on your crank timing index with the top of your compression stroke of the #1. If you don't you'll be on the exhaust side and your timing will be AFU (180 out). If you're getting spark, your wires are in correct firing order (CCW viewed from top) relative to #1 and you are aligned with TDC of the compression stroke on #1, all you'll need is fuel, and you'll be on your way.
