Ok, i've had my car for 3 yrs already. By now i have forgotten what the shocks on the trunk do. What I mean, how much are they supposed to lift the trunk? Or when I click the button, is it supposed to lift all, or part way?
My trunk just clicks open, but it wont move, I have to actually open it, it wont move at all by itself. Is it time for replacement?

Where can I get some other than Ford? I dont wanna pay a nad for them. :nice:

I have to manualy raise mine too.I never thought anything about it until I drove my dad's 04 and his raises most of the way up by itself.Either way, you are probably going to have to lift it part of the way by yourself.I'd save my nads if I were you, just not worth it in my opinion.

Mine used to open the trunk lid all the way (very slowly) and would require some force to close the trunk lid. Then I got rear ended and I guess it blew those shocks. The first time after I got my car back from being repaired, I opened the trunk lid and it was really hard to push it up. The shocks certainly wouldn't push it up. And then when it was up, it would fall back down as if I didn't have any shocks. The first time it did that it hit my arm pretty hard.

I took the car back to the sucky repair shop (Metro Collision Las Vegas :notnice: ) and they replaced them. Now it doesn't open the lid completely but it does hold it open so it won't fall.
