quick stero question 2000 gt

In order to replace my front two speakers on my 2000 gt coupe, do i have to take the door panel off or do they pop out??

You have to take the door panel off. I had to put mine back on several times before I got it right. Take your time and be careful...

do i just pull them off like the pop on or off? it feels like i am going to break them

First remove the bezel around the door handle. Then take out the two screws that are revealed. Disconnect the window and door lock button panel. Remove the trim fastener on the front of the door panel near the hinge area. Then slide up to remove. The Haynes manual describes it very well if you have one...

you also need to pop out the surround that encases the door open handle... but KT is right on the rest. its pretty simple...

for reinstall though its kinda dificult to get it on AND get the door lock pin in the lil hole... i find it helps to get the front part just barely in the grooves fit the pin in the hole then put the back in place then push down.

its also a lil easier if you remove the tweeter pod first if you have a 460 (pry off the grill and remove the screw, let hand across the mirror)
