i have a 68 mustang with a 93 cobra engine with a explorer intake.

my question is about the hose that goes from the throttle body to the valve cover filler. do i need it ? the engine is efi.

the engine was burning oil like crazy and i changed the little mesh basket under the pcv valve and i changed the pcv valve. wile i did this that hose came off and was wet with oil so i took it off and put caps over the throttle body nipple and the filler neck nipple.

Leave it attached, its part of your pcv system

do you have the valve cover splash baffle installed?

You might try something like this

Steeda Oil Separator - Ford Mustang

The hose from the Throttle body to filler neck shouldn't get oil in it unless you have a faulty PCV valve or clogged PCV screen or PCV hose. Or too much crankcase pressure.

The Throttle Body hose is the Fresh Air intake of the PCV system, air should be getting drawn into it, not pushed out of it and into the Throttle body.
