Ok everyone, I almost fell over. The wife has authorized me to spend MAX $2000 on a supercharger. :D I've hummed and hoed over getting a ZEX kit, then she said go ahead and get a cheap supercharger.

Obviously with only that cash I am looking at a used kit or a cheap Vortech V1 kit or something like it. I was alos considering getting a Ebay turbo kit which is highly debated.

I only wanna run 5-6lbs of boost to get my car in the 11's just not sure what to get.

Help me spend my money quick before she changes her mind!!

Its not going to happen for $2k. once you add in every other thing you'll need to support it. Why not just go with a bottle? Looks like you have the NAWZ cam for it already.

+1. Even if you do manage to nab everything you need for 2k, still consider the tune you'll need to be able to run it. I say keep saving your money.

The issue I have against nitrous, is that after the bottle is empty, you might as well give up and drive home. With forced induction, the fun never ends. That, and with nitrous, if you keep spraying it on a regular basis, after a year or two you've spent just as much as you would have on a 'charger.

well Im not worried about the supporting stuff. The car will go away for the winter so I can start stripping it for body work > BUT........she gave me the go ahead to make a big purchase AGAIN.......so I'll take it while I can get it. I just wanna get the kit for now. I can worry about putting it on and getting a tune later and all the supporting stuff. I just sold a tweecer I had that I couldn't figure out.

There is a twin turbo kit (chinese no name ebay) that is for sale locally. Don't bother?

you guys think a used unit is a bad idea?

Pretty much. Bought a S trim kit awhile back on corral. All looked good, decent price. Didnt get it on for a few months because I was rebuilding the engine and working on the engine compartment and it was winter so no rush. Got it running, seemed like all the seals were leaking and blowing oil into the engine. Took it off and sent it to Vortech. There was not one single part usable to it, including the case. That was a solid $1500+ out the window. Ive lost about $2200 so far by buying used parts. Been buying new ever since, no problems! Imagine that . Things that dont have moving parts in them are fine to buy used generally.

Ive you must buy a supercharger, get a Novi 1000 kit. Best cheap kit there is. Turbo if you can get sme extra $$ out of her or can build your our setup.

dude
its just a mockup car.

its common practice
you get a car with a straight front end.

throw in the needed ****. and make the kit around that.
who cares if it looks ****ty. the turbo kits are top notch i hear
