hey guys. the 65 is off to the chassis shop on sat. to get a 6 point cage and subframes put in. I had a chance to climb into a 68(?) chevy SS at the shop with a cage, and it was a tight fit getting between the doorbar/steeringwheel/seat bolster. And thats with that car having an aftermarket 13 inch steering wheel. Since its already hard to get in with the stock steeringwheel, its going to be darn near impossible to get in comfortably for myself (6'1, 190) and an amazing bending act to get my dad into it. (6'4'', 200+). So, does anyone have any suggestions for a quick release steering hub and steering wheel combo? I dont know about the steering shaft spline count? I know a 13-13.5 inch wheel should be good. thanks.

I can't count the steering shaft without removing parts. It's a Flaming River new gearbox and shaft. The spline count on the adapter is 19 on the outside.

hmm. I read something about the flaming river steering collumn changing the spline count to GM specs. I've used the search about 10 times and cant find the stock steering column spline count anywhere.

If you have a new or old shaft, call up C-A and they could fix you up. They're some smart guys!!

If you want to put an aftermarket steeringwheel on a stock collumn, most companies have adaptor kits for them. check summit?

Here is a great setup I have on my steering wheel

http://store.summitracing.com/partd...rt=GRT-3024&N=700+4294844287+115&autoview=sku

If you have a aftermarket grant steering wheel with 6 bolts this will work great.. It a really good anti thefit devise....
