Quietess Exhaust

I am looking for a very quiet exhaust for my car. Right now I have a stock exhaust looking to install longtube headers and x pipe does any body have any sugestions.

Why don't you just keep the stock catback? I doubt it is much more restrictive than other low noise exhausts. Plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper than $300+ for a new catback system.

The stock cat-back is restrictive when you get into heavier mods but it also weighs a billion pounds compared to the aftermarket systems. I know the test was done at AFM I just can not remember if it was done on 347 or a really hot 306 I think it was a 347 car but do not hold me to it. I also believe it was done with dumps not tailpipes. A quiet muffler they did not test would be Dynomax super turbos. The ultraflos are raspy with an xpipe not sure how raspy the supers would be with an xpipe.

You can stop looking, because you already have the quietest exhaust you are gonna get. Anything aftermarket will be louder. If they are truly stock, look at your mufflers. They should not be side by side exactly. I measured 3 1/2" difference on a stock setup. This eliminates the drone at certain rpms.

Might wanna think about spending the $ on some high flow cats if they are original with alot of miles. They are prolly shot.

my car with l/t's, h-pipe, cats, and borla will only rumble at idle then smooths out to sound like stock when hittin 3 grand up.. very good sleeper exhaust

i have dynomax super tubos with 2 1/2 dia, and it is freaking silent. light resonance at about 1800-2000rpms, but its way too quiet for me. i hate it. but if you want quiet...its probably the best youll get.

i have L/Ts O/R h-pipe and stock "cat-back" and it sounds pretty good, especially at WOT and i love the way it sounds inside the car

i have the MAXFLOWS on my car with an off road x and long tubes and at idle you can hardly tell the car is running but at WOT watch out it gets really loud. no drone and sound kinda raspy i get alot of compliments on them and its not the typical flowmaster sound.

Dumps are really quiet, compared to a jet engine. I just bought a car with LT, 1chambers and dumps. It makes the windows shake at 1100rpm. The sound bounces right off the pavement and vibrates everything. Fun in parking lots setting off alarms though. You dont want to drive around too much with dumps because of the fumes coming in the car. Best keep the windows all the way up or down.

hahaha...the chart says that Hooker Aerochambers are loud.......Ive been complainin that thay are too quiet.....i guess i wont recomend them then...lol

Dumps are really quiet, compared to a jet engine.

I have a couple of friends with dumps they are not bad. And the difference between them and tail pipes are not big at all.

I have a Borla catback and its really quiet. WOT it sounds really nice. I have a Magnaflow catted Xpipe, and for some reason that made it alot quieter.

I am sorry I did not mean dumps I meant turndowns. I will probally run a section of the tailpype but not all the way to the end
