i'm shopping for tires on Summit. what would be your choices for the street driven almost daily? i'm getting 15x7 w/4.00" b.s. front and 15x8 w/4.50" b.s. rear. i have rolled fender lips and doing the 1.75" UCA drop, adj strut rods, and camber kit... and not doing mini-tub in the back.

- BFG g-Force T/A Drag Radial in 225/50R15 + 235/50R15

- BFG Radial T/A in 225/60SR15 + 245/60SR15

- Nitto NT 450 in 205/55ZR15 + 225/50ZR15

- Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial in 225/50R15 + 235/60R15

- or other??

but do the M/T tires have the same longevity as BFG radials?

Come to think of it, if your lookin for a good tire for a daily/street car, see if you can find a BFG g-force sports. Ive had great success with a couple different sized on my 90 5.0 car, but Im not sure if they come in a 15" size. I had a set of 245s on a 16" rim and now have 275s on a 17" rim and they hook nice on the street, have great wet weather traction and wear nicely! If your lookin for traction at the track, Mickey Thompson all day long...but be careful in wet weather. Im gonna go with some 16" wheels for my 66 here shortly and Ill be lookin at my 3rd set of G-force sports!

yes, i saw the BFG g-Force Sport, but nothing bigger than a 225/60R15. it should work. thanx for your input.

My vote goes for this.

- BFG Radial T/A in 225/60SR15 + 245/60SR15

I have them on my car and like them, plus you cant beat the looks. I have 215 60 15 front and 235 60 15 rear. I also have 15x7 wheels with 4.25 backspacing. With my setup the front tires are pretty close to the A arm.

Also, If you do not have power steering then you may not want to go bigger than 215 front.

You could run them most of the time and get a pair of MT for the rear if you want to go to the track.

i''m partial to the white lettering BFG Radial T/A as well, but there are better performance tires with higher speed ratings. the Nitto tires are cheaper.

Yeah Im runnin Radial TAs on the 66 and have had great success out of them but there are alot better performing tires available. If the car isnt making alot of power or is strictly for cruisin then the TAs are great. They last, look good and have decent all around traction but if you beat on the car often or put decent power down they have their limitations.

I just figured how often is my 65 going to go in excess of 100 mph. So, I don't care about speed ratings being higher. I also like the fact the the TA is not expensive so I'm not afraid to do burnouts.

I've got the BFG G-Force KDW's on my 'Stang and my Subaru. Love them on both. Grippy as can be and noise isn't too bad either.

hah yea. The Mustang I can't hear them at all cause the engine is loud enough. With the subaru on the other hand it's pretty quiet so the tires you can hear road noise a bit more.
