this morning on the way to work i got involved in a race with a new body style z28. we started from 3rd gear, i got about a car jump on him in 3rd then when i shifted to 4th he slowly creaped on me. when i reached the 5500rpm mark his front bumper was slightly ahead of mine. i could tell by the sound of the car that he had some aftermarket equipment. He must have went the track down here for mother's day cause he still had his number painted on.

I happen to own a 2000 WS6. I gotta be honest, I don't think you pulled him in 3rd. Not trying to flame, just comin' real.

I have a stroked 4.6 (stroked out to 5.3L) that has cams, timing, P&P heads and intake, along with the 4:10s, along with Solid cam followers and all that. I can take the c5s and the WS6s and SS cars. But I really don't think you have "that Rare factory Freak". You might hang with the LT1s but not LS1.
With my pumped up 4.6 I almost lost to a guy who had a pumped 350 in his 65 ELCO. Our Mustangs are cool, but unless you dump some real cash into them they don't run with the big Boys. My wife beats mustangs in the WS6 all day long, And she ain't a race car driver.

I had that dream once too. Then I grabbed my wallet and ran to computer buy hella parts.

Hey he could have took the LS1 whats the big deal. Maybe the guy in the z28 couldn't drive. A win is a win.

I do have to agree with the guys on the 3rd gear thing. They suck big time but i'm still not saying your lieing.

When i had my 2v 96 GT I would take LS1s and LT1s. I'm guessing it was mostly cause they didn't know how to drive there cars or i had a factory freak. Well my GM friends always said it was a freak.

Good race anyway bro.

You don't have to be much of a driver starting in third gear...

Chevy transmissions are light years ahead in technology than Ford.
