Raced a New Mach 1

I was driving to town today to clean off the ole stang and I was headed back when I saw an MR2, a Acura Integra with a can, and a Mach 1 all traveling in a pac. The Mach 1 saw me and started coming up on my ass. I was in 5th, so I drop her down to 3rd and we started to break apart. So, we get out on this long road about 2 miles long and go, and I pull on him. I am pretty sure those things run low 13's my car is slow, he didn't sound like he was missing gears or shifting bad (while I was beside him). Does this mean my car runs in the 13's possibly....

I would think you would be somewhere in the mid to low 13s on street tires judging by your mods! Some Machs run low 14s, some low 13s. Depends on car, driver, auto, manual, etc!

I have a similar list of mods and beat a Mach 1 at the track by 1.1941. 13.149 @104.27 to his 14.104 @ 100.11

Really, chill out. I don't condone street racing but then again we don't need a voice of reason on every post like this, I think everyone knows the dangers. We all know that when you get on a long stretch of road with no other traffic around, and your being challenged, things happen.

Mach 1's are pretty quick. With traction and a good driver they can run low 13's. They are up there like LS1's on the highway, they just lack low end tq.

Tech, Talk, who gives a crap? There are tech items in talk and talk in tech, if you dont like it, then dont click in and read it. There is hardly any thing intresting to read in either section lately anyways . As for the win on the Mach 1, I think you easily have the mods to get the job done. It does not really matter what magazines or tests say about the mach 1, because every situation and driver is different on the street and at the track. Just my .02.

From a roll the Mach 1 should have beat you...they are the equivalent (5spd) to an ls1...even though there have been a few ls1's hit 109-110mph bone stock...or with very minimal mods...the mach 1 has yet to hit those mph and probably never will...
