Raced an LT1

I have a 98 gt with a superchips, BBK underdrive msd ignition dr. gas o/r x pro5.0 shifter a K@n FIPK 2 and frpp 3.73's and i lost to a 96 z28 with a chip and intake were his mods. i raced him from a roll, becuase i have no tread on my tires and can't get a great start. I also just took it down to the track and my best run was a 14.7 at 94.3mph with a 2.162 60ft.what mods can i do to beat that lt 1 he got me by about 3 feet at 100mph this was not at the track. we just did 0-100 on some old road. Is my car capable of better times then 14.7. I was thinking about a 70mm acuffabe t/b and plenem? would that be enough

PI intake conversion should put you back on par with him. The Accufab and Plenum are really a waste of time and money to install without it.

yeah i am going to college in the fall and unfortunatly my funds are low and a pi swap is 1300 plus a 350 tune so i don't know if i could swing that what about just the intake swap? or is that also a waste

Even less if you buy used parts. I've got a PI intake at home I'd sell for $50.00. It doesn't have the aluminium crossover, but it's pretty hard to beat $50.00 for PI intake. Seal it up with some RTV silicone instead of the adapter plates (others have done it without issue) add a "T" fitting and you're all set for a fraction of the price.

go with this one. this is a very good deal and will help you out some. beating LT-1's maybe not considering they run about dead even with me and i go 13.90's

but it will still be a imporvement

yep, I'd jump on that deal, especially if $ is low due to school. i think you will nedd alot more to hang w/the LT1, but the upgrade in a nice start for the $

Ideally for best result, but it’s not a necessity. Your current set up parameters should be able to compensate for the additional airflow.
