Racing-type ft valance on a ’67- Need photos

I like the idea of installing a racing-type fiberglass front valance panel on my ’67 F/B; that's the one with the big mouth where you no longer use a front license plate. I have not seen many pictures of this setup. I was wondering if anyone could post one here so I can make up my mind.

In effect I am looking for a Shelby look while keeping a stock fascia and hood, if this is making any sense to y'all...

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I have the R-Model front end from Cobra Automotive.

Thank you very much; this is helping. But I am talking about the one NPD sells and that allows you to keep the front bumper as well.

Here is mine. I was in the mock up phase at that point so there isn't a bumper on it. It may give you an idea though. I also have a billet grill that matches the grill that will go in there.

I'd love to see the result from the front, once the bumper is set.

Also I like what you did with the headlight rings. I have stripped and polished mine as well; I just need to ship them out to the chrome shop for full effect...

My lower valance is a stock sheetmetal one that is modified to accept the lower billet grille that is made for the fiberglass ones.
The car is a 66 but it should give you an idea of what it will look like.

Be carefuly which one you buy. I got mine from Maier Racing and the bodyman is still modifying it to fit correctly. It looks the same as 68EFIverts.

I know fiberglass is never perfect out of the box, but this valence was pretty poor.

Has anyone tried doing a 67 - 68 lower valance in the 69 - 70 fashion with the wider/shallower opening rather than the narrow/deep opening of the shelby type valance? It looks like it wouldn't be that hard of a mod and should definitely give a different look. I may have to give it a try on the bent valance that was originally on the 68.

That's pretty much what I'd like to go for. In fact, I believe that you can cut an opening into the stock valance panel, shape it like the opening of a 67 Shelby, with that wide smile look. That's what I am after. You also need to add a piece of steel to give the hole a "tunnel" look that channels air to the radiator.

I would use a Shelby lower valance if I could but it is obviously not going to work, as it goes forward to meet the extended nose of a Shelby.

I really like what Valley82 has done by the way. It's beautiful.

Check out Cobra Automotive's R Model style apron. It is a 1 piece upper and lower that deletes the bumper. Looks awsome.

Here are a couple of pics of the mod to the stock valance.
I had a piece of sheetmetal bent up to fit around the lower grille and fit up to the radiator support, then the valance was marked and cutout.
Then the sheetmetal was welded onto the front valance.
You could alter the opening to about any dimension you want.
I cant weld to save my butt or I would have done this mod myself.
I bought the valance from JMC Motorsports (here in San Diego) then they had a sheet metal guy do the mod.

Wanted something different, I think this mod makes the nose of the car look much meaner and still keeps it clean...IMO
