Well, speed detecting devices use K X and Ka, and so do a lot of motion sensors (ie doors at gas stations and such) Here in Vegas most police use Ka so i learn to ignore K and X bands on my detector, but in Miami they may use 2 of those or even all three. As for VG2 i dont know, could be Laser im guessing? hope this helps someone feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Yes, typically your X & K are more predominantly for the motion sensors as he was referring to although here in SC we have police that use K as well as the KA. So when I see the K I usually lift off the gas, but especially when I see KA b/c that is definately law enforcement. Plus with the K & KA radars, they can cut it on and off and so they can nail you easier than with X which is a constant radar. VG2 is the device they use to see if you are using a radar detector (as in states where they are illegal) so they can pull you and confiscate it. I haven't had any experience with laser as in the part of SC where I live they don't use it but it's by far the most effective way to catch us speeders...
