Actually, my wife just got pulled over last week in my stang and did just that. She was at the light next to a bunch of Navy punks in a Honda who were just going nuts over my wife in my car in the next lane. So, being the well trained hotrodder that she is, when the light changed she promptly blew their doors in. Problem is, she was still sideways when she hit third gear... right in front of a city cop, who of course jumped out and pulled her over. She just so happens to be a born actress, and proceeded to fall apart when he got to the door. My windows are really dark so I'm sure he assumed it was some punk street racing who knew exactly what he was doing (which she does- she can bang gears as well as any guy out there) so he gets up to the car to find her all dressed professional for her bank job, cute as a button and flipping out like she's scared to death. "This is my husbands car he'll kill me if anything happens to it oh my god oh my god it's so fast my car is in the shop this week I try to be carefull but it just spins everytime I want to go oh my god oh my god I'm not used to it he'll be so mad I wasn't speeding was I? It just keeps spinning and spinning oh my god...!! He was so flustered that all he could manage was " but, but, but you just can't do that! You can't just go spinning your tires! Please be carefull!" She drove off without so much as a written warning, and the Navy punks got a great show of a pretty chick manhandling real American horsepower. Maybe it isn't the best idea, but don't say it never works- just because you're too intuitive of a cop to fall for it

Here's a tip: If a cop asks you how fast you were going DON"T tell them, as sometimes we don't get a good read, but we can pull you over for "Speeding beyond conditions" but if you answer with "120" then you just admitted to speeding at a certain speed. Say "I really wasn't paying attention to my speedometer, I was..." Obviously you knew you were speeding, just don't give a specific speed. It's our job to figure that out.

Yeah, no kidding. I told a cop that the spedo was wrong in my truck and got 2 tickets. I was in my dads old 86 F150 on my way to work at 05:00. I was reading 63 in a 55 on the dash. Got pulled over for 71. It was then I remembered that the truck had bigger tires. Totally forgot about it at the time. I got the spedo certified and got railroaded into an improper equipment fine by the DA.

Cop was a J/A just like 90 of causeway cops. On that note so was the DA. http://www.thecauseway.com/

little tip for the window mounted detectors...stick it in the strip of tint right above your rearview mirror. nobody can see it and it works great. no more taking it in and out.

I also ran the power cord under the trim along the top and sides of the windshield...just cut the cord and hooked it to the fuse box. much nicer

V1...IF you can afford the $400 investment up front, then it's a no-brainer. Resale value is wicked...you'll spend the same or less $$$ in the long run buying and selling V1's as you would with something that doesn't work as well...

You can even buy returned V1's as new for $365...turn around and Ebay it a yr later for at least that. V1 for FREE...

For some reason, most people don't see it this way though...they just look at the initial price and make their decision

Dude, not to be an ass, but 60 mph is 1 mile a minute, so 55 is slightly over a minute and if the cop was traveling towards you at the same speed, that's about half a mile, which is still good, but just saying...

LOL...re-think that

If they were each going about 60 mph for about 1 minute after he saw the radar hit, then the net distance between when the hit occurred (ie, his detectors range on that hit) was roughly 2 miles...NOT 1/2 a mile

My V1 has picked up instant on blips at 2 miles...and solid radar at 4 miles...both over hills...
