Radiator fan blades won't seperate from the fan motor?!?!

I bought a replacement electric fan motor for the radiator fan. I took the clip off the motor shaft and expected the fan blades would just slide off but that did not happen at all. I tried tapping it off but it appears to be pressed on to the motor shaft. I looked around but could only turn up a old thread somewhere where someone said you can't seperate the fan blades and that you have to replace the whole thing as a unit.

If that is the case what kind of cruel joke is it to sell a replacement fan motor if you can't replace it? I bought the motor on bay for $60 and can't return it and a new fan assembly would run me $100. I'm going to try and use a drill and a dremel to drill the shaft out I guess. I have a shop press if that'd help in pressing it on the new motor. Has anyone ever replaced the fan motor on a 95 gt? If so can you help me out and tell me how you did it? Thanks for any help because this is ridiculous.

it does come off its just pretty tight on there soak it with wd 40 or pb blaster and then while holding on the blade tap the shaft WITH a brass or rubber mallet
so the point of the shaft doesnt mushroom up and it wouldnt let you take off the fan

Really! Awesome I thought I had been swindled into buying a motor I can't replace after reading that other thread. I actually started grinding the shaft down last light I 've shaved it off all the way down flush with the fan blade so it shouldn't be able to catch or anything. After doing that I sat the shroud on some sawhorses so the motor would hang free and used a rubber mallet to try to punch it out but no luck yet. I'll try spraying some pb on it this afternoon and if that doesn't work I'll continue drilling the shaft out with a dremel. I figure if I go slowly with a carbide cutter tip and don't drill all the way to the edge of the shaft I can hopefully weaken the bond between the shaft and the fan blade and then try tapping it out again. Thanks for the help
