I have posted before about this problem, but it got a little weirder yesterday. First off, I have had this car 3 years and it has always run great. This summer it would slowly raise the original temp gaude over to the H after 30-40 minutes of driving on the highway at least going 45 to 55 mph. It has never actually overheated, no pinging, and still ran strong during this time.
I used my Fluke digital themo that has two leads on it to check my temp while I went for a cruise just to make sure that my gauge reading H was not really happening. One probe is held on the top radiator hose near the radiator, the other probe was held on the lower hose near the radiator.
After driving 30 minutes at 55 mph (no fan question then), I pulled over to check the temps (meter was under the hood). The upper temp was 180, while the lower hose was 190?? How can the water be hotter after running through the radiator??
Keeping in mind it has, and still does run strong. I have run it when it was cold and the rad cap off to verify the water was circulating, so I know the pump is working.
Any ideas???
