So I'm thinking it would be cool to have the factory-correct radio in the dash and hide a 6 disk somewhere in the car. Has anybody done this? Where can I find a good used factory radio (1986 vintage)? I've looked on ebay and they don't have much selection. Seems like everything else on the car, Ford only used the same parts 85-86, so they are tough to come by.

Check www.performancepartsinc.com I think I remember seeing a brand new one on there for around $200 not too long ago.

How can I know what specific radio I need? I'm thinking if I know what other cars they were found in, I can grab one at a junk yard.

ppi has a brand new ford oem 85-86 factory radio for $129, you wire the cd changer to run through it I would think, I'm thinking the cd changer would have it's own remote? here is pic of the radio..
