my 02 gt vert has a squeak coming from the left rear that con only be heard while driving over bumps.i checked to see for looseness but i could find none.it makes no sound when i bounce it up and down or sideways.it has only 10,000 miles on it so i doubt if anything is worn out.anybody have any suggestions or identical problem?

My 02 also has a squeak -- more of a "chirp" -- in the rear end when it hits moderately sharp-edged bumps. Smooth jounces don't do it but a sudden bump will elicit a "chirp" from the rear. I recently installed a Bullitt suspension and FRPP upper control arms so it's none of that.

I suspect it may have something to do with the quad shocks rubbing on the main shocks. There was evidence of friction -- rub marks about where the quads cross them -- on the old shocks when they came out.

If it's not that it may be the parking brake cable rubbing on a guide or something.

On my car, it turned out to be the e-brake hold down cable that is bolted to the underside of the car. Check that clamp and look for any signs of wear. I took mine off, wrapped & lubed the cable and re-assembled. The clamp is just forward of the rear tire.
