well, after a few weeks of bad weather and such. I finally got a chance to run the car at the strip. Times are on street tires(dunlops) and with12* of timing(I don't have a timing light so I couldn't advance it).
first pass:
1.916 60'
14.75@80(missed 3rd and gave up)

second pass:
2.039 60'
[email protected] 1/8
[email protected]

third pass:
1.937 60'
[email protected] 1/8
[email protected] 1/4

I made another pass but figured out I really have to baby 3rd and missed it again. Seems like
I need a fresh trans. With some more timing and a little weight out and a little better 60'(should get into the mid 1.8s on street tires) low 13's are in the car in street trim.

Mods are in the link in my sig on th left hand side

thanks guys. I need to get the trans figured out and do a few tweaks and see how quick I can get the car with only bolt ons. I think with some weight out and good weather on slicks, I should get down toward the mid 12's after tonight's runs

what all bolt-ons you got on your cobra im interested. Mainly cause last time i ran mine at the track was in stock trim except 3.55 gears and flows and my 1/8 mile was a 9.1 on a 2.1 60' but this thing has only ever made 3 trips down the track. I'm interested as to how your going 8.6's

Your doin great, keep it up!:nice:
Crank that timing up, when i was n.a. i was runnin 18 degrees of timing and it really made a difference over 14 or 16 degrees. Any questions about the cobra's just let me know.

my drivers power seat stopped working so I just swapped the two seats around until i got a manual seat bracket for it. so I'm thinking with:

rear seats/pass seat(heavier one now) front sway bar off and nothing in the car(had about 30lbs worth of just misc stuff in it last night). I could pick up a tenth

with better weather easily another tenth

a little more seat time and better 60' another .05-.1

and some tweaking as far as timing and such another .1

I might be able to squeak into the 12's on street tires:shrug:

Traction really going to start to be an issue. You may get very very close if not touch a twelve but I wouldn't expect to go any faster on your street tires. Buy a nice set of d/r and throw them on some cheap ass steelies or a cheap 15" rim and you will see multiple twelves. Good times though not bad at all.

yeah i know right now I can go 12's on stickies. I dont really care for DR's but i am planning on running street stang ffw this year so I am going to get some MT's drs. the car should continue to hook fine, the only thing is to get my 60's figured out on street tires i was coming out just a hair to hard on a couple of passes last night. a little more smooth and I would hav pulled some easy 1.8s

IMO, I think you need a couple more bolt-on's & a little more seat time and then you can click off a 12 sec. pass. 13.47 is still a good bit away from a 12, but your doing very well & your definately on the right road. Good luck & let me know if I can help you w/ anything.
