Cruisin @ about 80mph this morning on my way to work, and I see this burnt orange thing flyin' up on me. He had to have been doing 140 at least! As he gets closer I realize this thing is a new Vette. Anyway, the driver slows and then pulls right up next to me. I gives the , he gives the and drops what appeared to be 3rd gear.As luck would have it, we are the only cars in sight, so I drop 3rd as well, and it's ON!!! From 80-120, he had me by about a car length...most of that coming after 100mph (damn these rolling bricks!) I was surprised he didn't put a bigger whoopin on me, but hey I'll take it as that car was definitely not broken in yet. As soon as it started it was over, the dude pulled off at the next exit. I must say, that is one impressive lookin' car. Thought it was a Viper when I first noticed it.

Sounds awesome!

Saw my first one two weeks ago, it was the same color and I was in the wrong car at the time to race so I just looked on.

I like the vettes but I’d never buy one.

ya the vetts came out a little while ago and i saw my first one this last weekend. I personally think they look sick and i would love to own one. But I drove one of my friends 2001 vetts......and it wasnt the fastest but it handled like a beast.

Maybe it is just me, but when I see the front end of the new vettes I think
Mazda RX8. Still love it.

Standard C6 is a rice for breakfest... Well, I mean for "03 and "04 Cobra owner's! I think they are a little bit slower compare to the Z06 C5 "04???

I guest the new C6 Z06 "06 will be on our tail's next year??? But don't worry about the basic C6... It's no match up for us!

Dude, The C6 is Dynoing 350-360 stock with like 50 miles on them (NOT BROKEN IN YET) and that is the same as a stock 03/04. THe Vette weighs hundreds of pounds lighter and is more airodynamic. Its a different class of car. Cant compare the two. BUt if I had to put my $ somewhere Id bet the Vette would win given the driver isnt a douche. If the Cobra has a pulley or whatever than thats a different story.

Just LOVE fast cars! ANything can be made fast.

Just saw my first one on the street today but cant run anything until i get my car tuned Tuesday Driver appeared to be the standard issue "I have far more money than knowledge of cars" 'vette owner. If it makes you feel better I have a feeling the guys on the street in these things are getting soaked at the dealerships. Two weeks ago at auction I watched two go through (orange and red coupes) out of curiosity and they "no sold" at $54K!!! Quite a bit to pay for the "first on the block to have one" bragging rights if you ask me.
