The book I have list's it as a 351W block with a 9.48 deck height, unless it was cast in 74, then it would be the taller 9.503 deck.. I believe that's the same casting # on the one i have left in my shop. The other characters are the date code, which will tell you exactly when it was cast.
Yes, D2AE means it was Originally cast for a Galaxie or rather a full size car ( there was no Galaxie by 72) but doesn't mean it that's the vehicle it was installed in.
