Ranger 5-speed...Damnit! I thought it was a T-5

Anyways, I was out at the local Pull-N-Save looking for a T5 for my 2.3 turbo project. I already had a bellhousing so i didn't care what I pulled it from. I found an 84 ranger with a 5-speed, and thought it was a T5...turns out it's some Misubushie (sp) tranny...It was behind a 2.3 and when I compaired the bell housings I knew something was fishy.

My question is, I only paid 50 bucks for the thing...and it's in good condition, anyone forsee any problems with using this tranny?

BTW it's going into a 78 II that's getting an 87 turbo coupe engine and turbo.

the T5's are great...problem is I have this thing and no T5...lol...I didn't know they were geared that bad...it's the Misubushi one..not the Dodge/Chrysler one.

I might just use it until I can get a good price on a T5...but then again...I don't forsee this car driving within the next few months...I might run across one...thanks guys

I have a ranger 5 spd and yes the tranny is a slush box. It is a very nice smooth shifting tranny its is fully syncronised with hydraulic clutch. I have being trying to find out if I can get my T-5 into my truck. Any one know if I can? Oh and I think Mitsubishi is Dodge/Chrysler.
