Rattle from the rear..what could it be?

Ok,

A few months ago I put on a new cat-back exhaust and shortly after that I started to hear this rattle from the back. I only hear it when I am driving around town and starting from a start. It's brief and is not consistant. From a stop I hear it about 1 out of 5 times.

I looked at my exhaust and could not see it hitting the frame or anything else.

I have a lot of aftermarket amps/subs/box in the rear so I have been carrying extra weight in the trunk for the last 3 years/61,000 miles.

Should I look more at my exhaust or could something in the rear suspension cause that kind of noise.

Noise description: Sounds like a metal to metal rattle, almost like a shake but is only when I just take off from a stop. When I launch hard I don't hear it, its only when just driving around, and its NOT all the time.

I am thinking of replacing my suspension (shocks/springs/sway bars), so thats a start and I can see what that does. Could it be something like control arms or anything else?

Thanks,

~K

also check the over-axle bends in the exhaust tubing. I had the same problem after 3 months. luckily mt cat-back is adjustable and it took 2 minutes to fix.

also the age of the car and how many mile the car has. potentially the bushings in the rear have lots of dust on/in them and they need silicone spray or an upgrade to spherical utherane bushings. in other words yes it might be time to upgrade the arms to while youre at it

(personally) my car is at 45,000miles i had squeeks and rattles in the rear of the car until i upgraded to the shperical/polyutherane weight jacker combo. the ride quality feels oohh so sexy. but now its time to upgrade the front of the car with new bushings because now its rattling like the rear was. the front end ball joints and bushings appear to will be going out the door pretty soon.

Does it sound like something resonating/vibrating?
.....it could just be the trunk lid. My sub losened up all the things on the inside of my trunk and they vibrate right when im starting off and the exhaust tone is the deepest. It resonates everything on the inside of the back trunk lid....

Try lookin at the inside of the trunk and duct taping some things down (like the emergency release handel, the back of the key hole, and various random wire connections where the license plate is), and then driving the car.
