all T5's with pro 5.0's and Tri-ax's in 5th gear have a rattle noise in the shifter... its just what it does...

mine makes the same noise with my pro 5.0 and my friends tri-ax makes even more noise.

My Hurst also has a slight rattle when accelerating hard at high speeds. I think this is just a byproduct of replacing the weak plastic bushing (which isolates noise and vibration) on a stock shifter with the metal bushing installed in an aftermarket shifter.

My understanding is that the noise is transmitted by the metal-to-metal contact of the shifter to the tranny- nothing but red RTV silicone to seal it. Somebody sells hi-temp neoprene gaskets to fix it, 5.0 magazine had an article months ago about someone fabbing one for their Tri-ax and it silenced it.
Try a search on the web, if you really want to fix it and can't find it let me know and I'll ask a buddy of mine who has the website.
