Rattling Tranny?

I finally got my car on the road again, its an 87 gt with a full mac exhaust system, 3.73 gears and an a/c delete kit....when i was driving it i noticed that when im in 3rd gear or up, i seem to hear a rattling sound that appears to come from the tranny....my question is what the hell could it be! there is minor vibration, but it is quite loud. any ideas?

Is it by chance noise from your shifter itself? If you place your hand on the shifter, what does it feel like?
