Re-Doing door panels

I want to re-do my door panels. I already know to use masonite for the carboard type stuff on the back of the door panel but how do i go about re-doing them?

please help.

links to the vinyl needed would be great. My interior is black.

black or not, not a lot depends on what you want to do?

are you just recovering them.... or are you trying to make them look costume?

recovering them isn't as hard to do as making them completely different or custom looking, but you already knew that.

You can get the board at most crafts stores, while you are there get some 3m super 99 adhesive, a good staple gun, whatever material you want to cover the panels with, and some thin foam. Use the old board as a template for the new, cut it out and rivet it to the metal part of your door panel. Rivet some new belt moldings on as well. Use the spray to hold the foam on the panel, then trim out all the holes needed. Use the spray to place the material on top of the foam, stretch the material so it wraps around the back of the board, then use the staples to hold it all in place.

Truth be told though. You will end up spending just about as much money to make the panels as you would if you bought the ones from 50resto...and you won't have to go through the trouble of doing what they already did.

and why would i put the vinyl over foam?

Have you ever done any upholstery work? This is one of those things that is very hard to teach you how to do without showing you. I would do some practice before wasting your money on the good material. Watch some episodes of Pimp my Ride or Overhaulin, or Hot Rod (Boyds), Unique Whips. These shows usually show a bit of the upholstery jobs, would give you some idea of what you are doing and what it takes to do it.
