Well, being that my other thread was getting rather big, I've decided to make a new one. I'm about ready to finalize this purchase with the exhaust and I just wanted to run it by you guys one more time - as I'm still iffy as to what I should buy. Considering that the dual exhaust (I was informed) would require someone to actually cut out the bumper to make it look right, I've just decided to go with side exhaust to save me the trouble.

Below is what I'm thinking of buying later on this week. Please look over it and state if it would be compatible with an 2004 V6 mustang or any other recommendations you would make.

The actual side exhaust:

and..

What someone recommended in my previous thread:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/9904v6-mac-catted-h-pipe.html

Please give your critque / opinions before I buy!
Thanks - appreciated it.

It's either the side exhaust or this:

Also someone recommended steeda over the other's due to the sound I'm looking for, I dont wan't flowmaster.

From what I've heard it sounds too ricy for what I'm looking for

It all sounds like rice

But yeah, sidepipes are cool.

Some GT folks are finding V6 bumpers and getting side exhaust. Gives a clean look in the back.

So, what I have up there would work? Someone said something about getting skirts or something? Why do I need these, I was looking at them and it's around 400$

You don't have to get the side skirts, but it will look odd without em. I have not seen a mustang with just tips at the sides. The side skirts make the install look a lot cleaner. I am not sure, but I wonder if the tips will be lower to the ground with out it intergrating into a skirt.

The pictures look good, but if I buy these skirts don't I need to get them painted? Or, do they just come ready to snap on?

i had a 95 with true dual 50 series. sounds nothing like the gm 3.8 with a flowmaster which sounds very much like crud. nice low rumble at idle and like an exotic car up higher. not raspy at all.

More than likely you will need to paint the skirts.

No one has to actually cut out the rear bumper to make it look right. GT takeoff rear bumper covers will already have the correct cutouts for rear-exit exhaust tips. I have seen '99-'04 V6's with dual exhaust and the tips exiting under the stock rear bumper cover, and while they don't look bad, those with the GT rear bumper covers look much better in my opinion.

At idle it sounds just like a V8, but when you drive at WOT, EVERYONE can hear it's not a V8
I've had Flows on my car and know how they sound.

If you get sidepipes, you can eithe rdo the 2000 Cobra R look without the skirts, or the Roush look with the skirt. Yes the skirts need to be painted.
