Really shocked at new 5.0 prices..

Thats why we are gear heads. We by a model year older for 15k and then mod it up (7k) to put out 450rwhp for a total of 22k. Sure the car might have 20k miles on the clock but thats still almost new in my book. I will take 450rwhp for 22k over 370-380rwhp and a 40k sticker price. Plus the 05-09 stangs can have all the same suspension mods as the 2010-2013 stangs that make that car handle so great.

I bought my 01 vert for 27k and I'm pissed I didnt buy used! 30+k for a Ford makes no sense to me. GT prices seem insane.
I'll never buy another brand new car tho. Awful investments.

You breakin' it down like that is ridiculous. I'm not talking specs...just an 03 Gt Vert vs a 11 Gt vert...that's all! Obviously the cars and engines have been improved, as with 98% of all models over 8 years. Damn.

Well one of the main reasons there is the jump in price is to help recoup some of the money invested in the r&r for all the new stuff that comes in them. Mainly the powertrain and suspension packages. The new 5.0 coyote engine is a fairly expensive motor to engineer. To take an engine that displaced 5.0L and made 225 HP at the flywheel 15 years ago and then take the same size engine today and make twice that is a feat no doubt and then it still has to keep up with todays emissions and gas mileage regulations. And ya the options do add up.

The guy I bought my 03 GT premium coupe from still had his original invoices. He paid $30k for it and the only extra was the 5 yr/100k extended warranty. 1 year later I paid half that price.

I do not get why everyone is crying about the prices. You are getting a GT with terminator performance, thats what technology buys you. Plus if you get a fully loaded model, your getting a world class sports car, which most of us see as a muscle car. Navi, sync, HID's, brembo's, sporty wheels, glass roof, interior quality x10 than any mustang out in the past 15yrs. P

Just be patient and find a used one with like 20k on it, and your golden.

I optioned one out online and it came to about $35K. But my options were the TrackPack, Brembo brakes, the electronics package, and a couple of the exterior add-ons--side scoops and the rear decklid thing.

My 2003 Premium GT stickered for $25,900 (I got it for $23K out-the-door). The only two options it doesn't have are the Mach 1000 and the automatic transmission.

there is no 'track pack" for 2011. my 2011 msrp is 32900. its at the dealer waiting for me.

I actually was at a Houston area dealer just the other day in reference to the 2011. I was presented with a kona blue 2011 with the 3.73 option/leather/shaker 500/etc and it was stickered for 32k

The brembo option cost $1600-$1700 as the other kona blue GT had it installed

Really shocked at new 5.0 prices..
