Rear Auto Transmission Seal - Removal?

There are articles on TCCOA dealing with replacing this seal. Its the "extention housing tailshaft seal" that is very common to produce leaks, particularly after rear end gear changes.

Mine leaked soon after a 4.10 gear swap, and my dealer was kind enough to warranty a whole new extention housing on the trans, so I dont have any hands-on experience replacing it.

There is a mod you can to do help prevent this seal from going bad and leaking, its just referred to as the rear seal lube-mod. It's somewhere on TCCOA but I cant find it right now. You might ask the guys on modular depot.net.

i just put a pull hook in there and it came right out

then i got a socket the same size and tapped the new one in place after cleaning the area up as best as possible.
