Hi, I was wondering if somebody experienced the same as me with his new baby. When you step hard on the gas and make the tires spin a bit, the rear end begins to skip and bounce on the pavement. Since almost every part I know that is supposed to stop this is aleready factory installed, what should I do?
When a rear propuslsion car steps like that on hard acceleration, it's because of the spring back of the rear housing, but on mustangs there is a bracket on the top of the housing to stop this...
So, what do you think about that?

What you are experiencing is the dreaded "Wheel Hop". Most of the guys and gals that go to the tracks will see it at launch. There are several things you can do to minimize it.

Freebies:
Try starting with the revs around 2400 to 2500 rpm, dump the clutch while at the same time putting the gas pedal to the floor. Also, make sure that the TCS (Traction Control System) is off.

Not so freebies:
Lower trailing control arms, coil-overs, Adjustable Upper 3rd Link, and many... many more.

Just lowering it with an Eibach pro kit dramatically reduces wheel hop.

I'm glad I'm not ligned up with you Very, very respectable time/speed for the 05. Do you think you will ever get the 05 to meet or beat your cobra times? If so, awesome!
