I have a lot of play in my control arms, enough that I get a popping sound when I take off from a stop, and rear end noticably moves when you rock the car side to side or forward to back. I am ordering new bushings for the rear lower and upper control arms just to cover all basis back there. I am wanting to know if there is a link or site that will give the proper installation procedure and adjustments. I have searched and could not find anything worth a darn.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

You're better off just replacing all the arms instead of just the bushings... I mean you have to take the arms completely out either way, so why not just upgrade them and save the headache of dealing with the bushings and end up with the same crap stock control arms that you have now?

I agree with capri debris get aftermarket upper and lower control arms, then you can remove the quad shocks and leave them off because you dont need them with good aftermarket control arms. I have maximum motorsports extreme duty lower control arms, best move i ever made, they have spherical bearings instead of mushy bushings and fms upper control arms with stiff rubber bushings which allows proper movement which is needed up top, your car will launch and handle much better.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

Don't bank on new c arms eliminating the need for quads.

Keep your quads either way. Good control arms doesn't always eliminate wheel hop. I have max motorsports control arms and had wheel Hop with my quads removed.

It is fairly easy to change bushings. I have burned them out with a torch, or more recently, taken a drill and walked it around the shell until it goes through. Then the inner comes out and you can cut the shell out. Look on utube for Chevelle or 12 bolt rear control arm bushings...

I simply boxed the stockers. I would not change the arms unless I got adjustable uppers.

well unfortunately trying to stay on somewhat of a budget here, since you now, christmas just ended. I found a set of poly urethane bushings for $75 on MustangsUnlimted.com. Dont think I can afford a set of new control arms, so I'm stuck with this for a while at least.
