Hi

I must have placed the jack incorrectly when i was lifting my 03 mach1 up by the rear diff because i now notice a couple of drips each night on the floor.
What am i looking at here in terms of repair - I suspect it's that rear diff cover, it looks a bit mangled on the bottom and only started after that recent work of lifting by the rear end.
I was planning on storing it for the winter soon but if it's dripping for the next 5-6 months, it may be dry by spring and undriveable to a mechanic , so i also need to check when i need to address this.

Thanks!

You probably just need to re-seal the diff cover with rtv.

@crazyone64 are you able to change differential fluid yourself? You had the car jacked up so it sounds like you were working on it yourself at least. Worst case scenario you may need a new cover, but you may be lucky like sluggie suggests and just need to clean and reseal the diff and cover

Hi, I took some pics this morning,
That's paper around the bottom of the rear diff and casing.

I left it for a couple of days and found the spot where it's leaking.
Ignore the straight line on top in the first pic. You can see where the gasket and cover aren't aligned in the 2nd pic.
I'll buy that RTV silicone
