Im doing the SSBC rear disc conversion on my car. Question is, how do I bottom out the piston in the caliper? I tried pushing it in but that doesnt seem to do anything....

Do I have to rent one of those screwy tools that "turns" the piston? The calipers are the same as the 93 cobra, and the turbocoupe.

Yes - that is the only way I know to get the pistons compressed. AutoZone will rent/loan the tool for free. Harbor Freight will sell you one for $40 if you want to add it to your tool collection. See http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=40732 for details.

i just use a pair of needle nose pliars

Impossible to do that on the cobra/thunderbird calipers. You can use needle nose on the SVO ones.

My g/f's father is a mechanic, time to go visit his shop and bother him a lil bit. lol
